And I thought last year was terrible for me...

At least I had first-responders on me in less than ten minutes...Which was fortunate, given the amount of blood I was losing on account my injuries.

I can't imagine doing was she does. Riding where she does. Riding how she does. Making the number of videos she does. Identifying the stories she does.

No wonder she's exhausted. The crash just proceeded the inevitable psychological crash she has at the end of a tough season. But she's already planning Season 8 and a new motorcycle. I'm tired already.

Watching that video makes you appreciate our first responders and as you say, there's generally no service measured in days and weeks.

Noraly is driven. And has a lot of irons in the fire. I have taken her two online classes and they are first rate, informative, and hugely helpful in figuring out a path on the YouTube life.

I hope her book finds the English translation sooner than later. If her courses are any hint, the book will reveal a lot more about her thoughts and feelings about a riding life....

I actually subscribe to her channel so I saw the episode as soon as it was up. I was waiting for this to happen as she has gotten hurt before and with the riding she does, it is always just a matter of time. But she explained that she was going the stop the season anyway for different reasons, mostly weather related, and you could see the toll of riding thru rural Africa was taking out on her. It was still heart breaking to see this happen to her and the complications from the surgery (punctured lung) sure did not help. But she is a trooper and it was encouraging to hear that she is excited about her next season and new motorcycle to do the trip on. Honestly, she is one of 2 people I follow on YT as so much of the rest of it is time wasting garbage.

Gradually returning to some semblance of normal, thanks. The last year's been more than a little nuts, but I'm close to a normal walking gait, and getting lots of normal-ish stuff done again. Le Wife is for the moment freaked about my even getting on a bicycle at the moment (I have a fairly chequered history on two wheels sans engine), but I'm rather determined to be motoring again, if perhaps a year or two down the line; the important thing for now is getting as close to where I was physically before the crash, and in the meantime take stock of how life on the road has evolved (or, more to the point, devolved) since my debacle.

If you get on good with a bike, the next (small) step up towards another Vespa would maybe be a Honda Super Cub or Trail 125. Great little machines, so light and easy to handle. But not a Vespa for sure.
