Can anyone give me an idiot's guide as to how to remove the upper part of the front fairing (the part that the windscreen fastens to)?. There are no obvious fasteners for any of the front fairing parts and I cant find anything on line for the 530 and all the models have different pieces of fairing and fastening positions.
I am trying to get to the rear of the glove box but I cant find any way to remove the glove box either. I have removed the four screws that appear to hold the box and trim in position but there are obviously other fastenings somewhere.

Many thanks,
that is some help but unfortunately it is impossible to see which order the panels come off and where to start. In spite of the diagram title saying that it shows the glove box, it doesn't.

at least on my mp3 500 some of the front pieces snap off to reveal fasteners. I would try the windscreen first. take pictures so you know how to put it back together. possibly #8 on the front shield diagram appears to be a snap on part but don't take my word for it, on my 500 (2023) a similar part is snap on and removing it exposes fasteners. worth a shot.

Check the owner's manual on how to change the light bulb. It tells you how to remove fairing stuff. In the USA you may encounter an unexpected challenge or two because they reuse older parts here and there on individual bikes.

The 530 user manual makes no reference to changing bulbs, it merely says 'contact authorised dealer'
The workshop manual just says 'remove the upper shield cover' but gives no information on how to do this and all the fasteners are concealed.

the clear acrylic windscreen is held on by 4 screws, but i need to take off the section that it is mounted on but there are no obvious fasteners and if it merely unclips then i cannot unclip it without applying excessive force

Refer to the factory workshop manual

The 530 is too new and parts too expensive and hard to obtain (other than new) to play "what could possibly go wrong?" on.

I have the workshop manual but it makes no reference as to how to remove the panels, it just tells you to remove them to gain access

If this is the part in question then it is a snap on part as indicated by the bullet shaped protrusions on the back, they fit into rubber grommets

But hey don't take my word for it. If it was my bike and I had no dealer to ask i'd go for it. I just went out and took that piece off my bike mp3 500 slightly different (2021 but it is still remove windshield then remove "closing shield") and yes it is scary because its made not to come off at highway speeds. I used a plastic shim to pry it up. Again I mess with my bike, you do what makes you feel comfortable. Wise sbaert is correct, those parts, at least here in the USA, are difficult to get and mucho dinero.

Of course you cannot "change headlight bulbs" on a MP3 530 because there are none. It is all LED

For bulbs read LED strips/units/items - there is no reference to changing those either

You were absolutely spot on, many thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I removed the strip by some careful levering but with trepidation. Having removed that piece plus three others I was able to get to the area I needed. Simple when you know how, but seems overly complicated just to hide a few fastenings.
