Hello everyone! I have this problem on my GTV 300 sei giorni that the original matte paint looks patchy (pls see photo attached)on both sides of the scooter. Facepalm emoticon
I am wondering if anybody had this same problem too and would you provide me the solution? Thanks!

Is that a fuel leak caused by overfilling and splashing? Alternatively is your bike a one owner or has a previous owner used a non matt polish or finishing product.

My suggestion would be start with a cleaning product that is specific for matt paint. There are lots of u tube videos on this as Harley and Indian have been using matt finishes for years.

That step rules out any earlier paint contamination.

My guess is rain water or dew runs off the seat and down the sides leaving that slight stain. Maybe there is a coating on the seat that is rinsing off on to the paint? Scooterwest has several spray cleaners/ products they recommend for matte paint that might help.

For the past three years I've been using a couple of Chemical Guys- www.ChemicalGuys.com- products. They are in CA.
Meticulous Matte auto wash for satin-matte finish & Matte detailer spray sealant.
Both of which have given good results. The amount used is hardly measurable-which appeals to the Scot in me.

I'm interested in the seat/cover on your bike. Is this something you have done?

Thanks guys.
Well those marks already exist when I bought the scooter from the previous owner. They are done by previous owner. The night i met up the previous owner and check the scooter in a carpark those marks were not noticeable. They are noticeable under sunlight.
yes I did use Chemical guy for matte finish washed it twice but those marks still there.

pillion rubbing, based on those marks location on the scooter. I have the same thought too and the previous owner did do a lot pillion riding.

I have my seat cover renew because the original one looks a bit old.

Maybe pillion sunscreen or skin lotion?

One must protect their legs from harmful UV or dried skin.. even when not protecting from road rash.

Spray it with window cleaner (Windex) and it should shift it. Sunscreen kills paint. HD make a matt paint cleaner.

I've noticed on my matte finish that I can see the location of several stickers that were taken off my bike before I purchased it. That matte texture will hold adhesive and other junk that a smooth gloss paint wont.

Thanks so much guys.
Those marks on my scooter are not adhesive though.
I will try the window cleaner.
