Hello everyone,

I am doubting what the correct orientation is on the steering column bearing for my P200.

Here is a pic. Is this the correct placement or should the bearings be facing up towards the headset?

beyond flipping it correct way around, just go right on ahead and flip that into the bin seeing that it's trash.

hopefully your races aren't waxed too.

That too. That thing is unusable in its current state.

if that was in such a manner, and the bike was in somebody else's hands or built it, I'd question what else could be screwed up-- especially with something so seemingly simple.

1000% it's being thrown out and replaced. I actually changed that bearing years ago & am not sure if I placed it this way because that's how the old one was or because I'm a dufus. Both are equally likely. Facepalm emoticon

*goes over to tool box, gently shuts lid and locks it*

*turns, shows key, puts in breast pocket*

you can have this back when you've reviewed the materials and proven to me that you are not a danger to yourself or your vespa

*walks out the door*

Well, if it was your scoot, you rode it after for a while and it did not kill you, you are ahead.

You are still on the sunny side of the dirt. And now know emphatically how that bearing is placed. So.... Net win.
