Hi,
Bit of help required. A friend recently give his Mk1 T5 a full refurb. As part of this he fitted a Malossi Vespatronic ignition system. Unfortunately the screws holding the stator plate came loose and wrecked it. New stator plate ordered but when it arrived the cable wiring was too short to reach the CDI and different colours (blue, yellow, white, green). After some jiggery pokery the stator was fitted and bike starts OK. However no lights. Checked the voltage and getting around 60V AC at the CDI and around 6V AC on the lighting circuit.

Anyone know if there is any way to test this or if there are variants in the vespatronic stators e.g. 6V or 12V etc. Any help greatly appreciated.

Malossi should have this information on their website. Have you looked there?

You might want to ask a Mod to move this topic to the NSM section. You likely will get more responses over there.

And oh, Welcome to MV.

All the Vespatronics I've installed have been fine so far. One thing I can say, is I installed the Polini version of the Vespatronic and that had weak power output as well. Brand spanking new! Polini definitely does not advertise 6V stators so Im guessing its a bad one. Maybe youre in the same boat?

Thanks for your replies. Confirmed the wiring with VE UK but no joy. Currently am putting it down to a bad stator.
