Hi all and sorry if this info freely available!

I've just gone to remove my rear wheel and vario cover for some powder coating jobs and don't have the correct size sockets for the main nut on the exhaust hanger/swing arm or the vario cover.

Can anyone advise what I need as I need to purchase tomorrow?

My socket set leaps from 17mm to 20mm so must be something in between!

Thanks all ๐Ÿ‘

Pretty useless socket set! 19mm is a very common size (driven axle nut) - and 18mm is found on some Piaggio bikes (e.g. variator nut on LX).

So the two sizes I'm missing - typical!

Thanks very much - off to the tool store!

Had a thought and wondered whether any of the imperial sockets might fit and it appears that a 19 mm socket is the same as a 3/4 inch one!

Explains why my metric and imperial socket set jumps around the sizes - who knew? ๐Ÿ˜‚

The socket set must be 45 years old and I've had it for the last 30 and in all that time I've never thought to consider why there are gaps in the metric socketsโ€ฆ

19.05 is close enough!

Rant... I'm putting together a tool kit for the 50S so am looking for appropriately sized open ended spanners. When did they get so damn expensive?

I used to frequent the big flea market in town. Always the guy with bins of used tools for $1 each. A plethora of metric tools, virtually new, as it seems people will buy some massive combination set and toss the metric ones.

It's usually cheaper to buy complete sets. Don't be afraid of no-name brands, you're not looking to earn a living from them.
