Looking for general idea of what comes next. Will a Vespa service center be able to install a new ignition system for less than the value of the scooter? I'm so sick of the drug fueled crime in the Seattle area!
The work of a big screwdriver and a drug addled moron.
what comes next depends on several factors: are you going to repair it yourself? are you going to report it to insurance and have the dealer repair it? how much money are you willing to spend getting it back up and running? does it have to be perfect or is functional an acceptable outcome?
Seems to me if you have your red key, the Vespa dealer should be able to remove and replace the lock. Then move your red key chip to the new red key that comes with the lock. Then cut and program a new blue key. If so, it's just the cost of the lock and labor.
Scooter not worth a major repair. Well used 2013…Deductible's too high. Functional is what is needed. Very possible a charity donation at this point or sold for parts. Brand new tires and I just (two days ago!) renewed the tags.

Thank you Jimc. Yes on keys. No on DIY. I've enough to do right now. Trick will be getting it to a shop because my motorcycle trailer requires the wheel free. It's going to have to be lifted into van…
