Hi Everyone-- I wounder if there's any wiring experts on here can help me -- with my Vespa TX200 -- no lights or dash board.

A TX 200 is like a T5 mark 1 with the square headlight --

All worked last week -- but now i have no front or back lights
and nothing comes up the dash-- no fuel- rev counter etc or anything else

The indicators work though and brake light-- which is odd-- I can't find any loose wires -- anywhere --

And the turning signal light seems to be on all the time-- however will flash if do use the signals-- any ideas--

took horncast off and cant see anything loose there either- check CDI and regulator all wires in place

any ideas what could be the issue--

All the switch looks to have there cables still in place

Im clutching at straws here, the TX is a Spanish Motovespa, its getting on in years. I imported a 1987 PK XL spanish motovespa, it was full of sand, wires were rotting, very solid body, bit of surface rust, but electrical issues galore, lights, horn, brake so replaced with a new old stock motovespa stator; spanish TXs have the headlight on all the time, there is no off switch. It might well be your stator is shot, replace that and redo the wiring loom at the same time. Have you looked at your stator and the state of wiring there, i suspect there will be some surprises waiting.

All wiring looks good and worked just added a sip vape and plug it into the old loom I did have some problems at first but that was the brake switch wire coming off the brake pedal

What I don't understand is how can it power the horn and indicators but not the lights

I have an older Motovespa 150S and things are sometimes a bit different on these machines compared to what was coming out of Italy. Here is a T5 wiring diagram I found on this very site but I don't know if the Spaniards came up with their own or not. May or may not be helpful.

I agree, my stator is different to a regular PK XL one, it has one less pole hence a bugger to find one new old stock, i suspect the same for the TX

If the diagram I posted is correct, it looks like, coming out of the stator, there should be a red, green and white set for the CDI, one black for ground, and one blue ( could be grey on yours ? ) to the HB switch which looks like it powers everything but the ignition. So, if some things work and others don't it has to be a bad connection somewhere. If there was a short anywhere on this line, I'd think that nothing would work.

I realize that you could have a completely different Spanish stator. What are the colors of the wires coming out of yours ?

there will be a code stamped on the stator to identify what it is , head to scooter-Center.com and they have schematics for models and parts
Choose Vespa (motovespa) in the model selection list

Connect both grey together. That's the 12V AC feed from regulator to everything that needs 'juice'…

This is how they should be…
