Oil Pressure Blink and goes off immediately

Hello there,

I have a Vespa Sprint 125cc. For some reason, I was riding and break on the red light, the oil pressure went blink and disappear right away. It just gave 1 blink when I break. Then I continue to ride, there wasn't any sign.

In this case, Are there wrong or Is it something related with the engine oil?

The light is for low oil pressure (not for oil level!) which can happen when you brake and the oil pump misses a gulp of oil because the level is low.

So this is most probably, as above, low oil level. Luckily it's giving you a chance to top up before detonation.

I have checked the oil dipstick, the oil was normal. It really not often happen, the light just show up for 3-4 second than it will disappear.

It sounds like a wiring issue. Check all the connections and ground wire.

If oil level is fine another thing that can cause this is oil that's too thin. Does owners manual list more than one recommended viscosity? I'm assuming it's hot all the time where you live, try troubleshooting by going to thicker oil.

If problem persists these switches do go bad, cheap and relatively easy fix if necessary.

Not just a blink then. Look for chafed wiring.
