I would like to replace the horn on my 530 HPE, I can f***t louder than the existing one. The problem is that I doubt that anything useful will fit in the original location due to body panels shrouding it. Has anyone fitted a replacement and where did they mount it?

The horn looks good, but as Robot found, it is too thick to go in the original position on either the scooter or the mp3

I added a older gold wing horn to my 2021 mp3 500. It was a job but I got done. Prior at speed and with hearing protection and a helmet I could not hear the stock horn while riding, now no problem, and it sounds much better. (to me at least) Has a more car like sound ( 103 db's) not the 'roadrunner beep beep'.

I removed the bottom center covering and fabricated a bracket out of aluminum
and used one of the frame bolts. It's a simple flat piece bent via vise and hammer to fit , just something I had laying around, and yes I used the stock horn wires, I didn't cut the ends in case I wanted to put it back to stock. just used posi-taps. I expect one could use scotch locks I never cared for them but they would work. The horn I got on ebay. Left the stock horn in place.
