Bought my First Vespa, '01 ET4 w 2900 miles. Had full service completed by shop, replaced intake manifold, new oil/air filters, all new fluids, new City Grip 2 tires, front/rear Bitubo shocks. How often should I take in for service without any issues to maintain good working order? Going to have them check belt next time, no other issues noticed upon inspection. Also, wanted to get input on full face vs 3/4 helmets, padded riding jackets and Kevlar riding jeans? Absolute necessity with 150cc no highway? Only commuter and grocery getter rides. Thanks in advance for the recommendations.

For the maintenance schedule, check out the Wiki section at the top of the page. I always suggest a full face or modular helmet over 3/4, a good mesh riding jacket with armor (since you are in San Diego), decent riding pants, good gloves and don't forget a good set of riding shoes/boots. Everyone has different preferences, but the most important thing is to make sure the helmet fits you. Do your research, RyanF9 has some good vids on YT.
