Cool!
We were just out there last summer, and I think it's an awesome choice. Bit far of a trip, but not out of the question! Will Voodoo Donuts be on the itinerary? ![]() |

On a related note, Scooter Cannonball starts the following Sunday on 6/22, leaving from Seaside Oregon, about 90 minutes west on the Pacific coast.

The wife and I are hoping to make the trip south this year and attend our first Amerivespa weekend. Anyone else planning to attend?

I knew the Lammy Jammy is going to be in PDX this year, but i had no idea that Amerivespa is as well. I suppose i can make time to ride 30 miles to be there...

We're trying to plan to attend. With no further information on hotel location, agenda, registration timing and so on, they're not doing themselves any favours.

I stay here almost exclusively and can talk to the manager about maybe an MV rate. I was thinking about riding the GTS up from San Diego with a buddy riding support truck. Then trailer home. |

Knowing nothing about the event details, we always stay at Northrup Station (in Northwest) when we visit PDX. Excellent neighborhood, on the lightrail line, has a parking lot. Rooms are suites with full kitchens and balconies large enough to sit on.

And just like that, registration is now open, and the hotel is the Holiday Inn, Columbia riverfront.

They chose a hotel on an island, with only freeway access to the city, for a scooter rally?!?!

I emailed info@vespaclubofamerica.com enquiring about family registration (spouse attending etc), which has been possible on some previous Amerivespas, but no reply yet. I'll give them another week before trying again.

whodatschrome wrote: I totally agree. My guess is that that's the only venue that they could procure that would hold that many people? No doubt the vespa club searched high and low for the best spot to use in the portland area. At least it will be only 1 mile of freeway travel. Still, it's a pretty busy portion of the freeway, being that it's right at the washington/oregon border. It might be sketchy for the slower 50cc scooters. Bob |

Sorry to have missed you at Amerivespa. A cv joint on the van decided to gain a huge divot on its outer race a few days before - and a replacement won't arrive until tomorrow at the earliest.
