I plan to keep the exterior original with its few blemishes and such but not sure if I want to make updates to the engine/ignition etc. This is my first "vintage" Vespa but have worked on lots of modern and older motorcycles through the years so not afraid of a project.
From what I've read, the 3 port Veloce is a great engine and offers solid performance compared to the regular Sprint and even the 150 Special. Assuming the original cylinder is in good shape would you recommend the 177 kit and then other upgrades such as ignition, 24" carb, exhaust and suspension? Any input on Malossi, SIP or other kits would be welcomed.
It will not be an everyday rider or dying to go 80MPH but want something fun to ride occasionally but more importantly dependable.
