Scooterwest has this:
https://www.scooterwest.com/dr-pulley-variator-sliding-weights-21-x-17-9-5g-13-0g-dp21x17.html

Which says:
* These are lighter than stock and can cause the belt to ride too high rubbing the engine case and the hitting the rev-limiter (cutting power to the motor). We recommend installing an extra spacer washer between the two front variator halves (see part number 434885).

I read a lot about this on the forum here, seems the opinions are mixed. Is this a thing? The extra washer is a good idea?

I'm thinking about going with the 10.5g. I want to get better off the line acceleration, totally don't need more top speed. 60mph is more than fast enough for my scooter.

You WILL need the extra washer with Dr Pulley sliders, otherwise your oil pan gasket WILL get ripped out.

Thx Jim! Extra washer in the cart along with the other parts. Any reason not to go with 10.0g rather than 10.5? Again I read others with 10g sliders in a GTS250 get indicated 85+ mph ... I have no reason ever to go over 65.

FYI I put the Dr Pulley sliders in yesterday, along with the extra washer. The sliders were actually just a hair too wide, so they stuck in the channels, so I sanded each of them just enough to get it to fit without sticking.

I went with 10.5g sliders and it made a huge difference in acceleration.

LoL! Could be! We'd be the middle-aged menaces of the neighborhood.

FWIW I also worked on my '06 Triumph Scrambler on Saturday, part of which was rejetting for the exhaust swap. I was feeling the hooligan vibes when test riding that after the jets went in.
