I'm shipping my Vespa to NYC in a few hours. It's been parked for a year with the original battery (disconnected, but still possibly dead).

The moving company wants the fuel tank drained, so I'll be buying a siphon and a gas can. If the battery is dead, is there a way to manually open the seat to access the tank on a 2020 GTS?

Open the glove compartment and use the emergency release on the top left next to the steering column.

Thanks!

I pulled on it as hard as I could muster (given my fear of breaking the door if I lost my grip) and couldn't get it to trigger. I reconnected the battery and luckily it had enough charge to draw the screen and open the seat. The ignition button didn't seem to be working - unsure if it's a problem with leaving it parked for a year on a 5yo battery, or if something in the headset corroded.

Sounds like I'll have plenty of work cut out for me when I get it back in NY.
