so, there's this plastic part that goes behind the 90-degree cap - in the spark plug vid from scooterwest Rocket says it's just a bit of added "stability" to help make sure the plug doesn't get shaken out due to the vibration of the engine.

Glad it's worked out.

I wouldn't worry about the clip - just ensure the HT lead can't come near anything hot or sharp. A loose zip-tie might help if necessary.
