hello folks! I just bought this scooter.. looking to go crazy on the mods..I am looking at a new seat from SIP... I just want to make sure i have the correct model info.. this is an option on thier website

PX150 E '98 / MY / Millenium 150 ccm 2T AC '98-'05 VLX1T

.. is this correct? does it go by a diffrent model number or just a PX 150 with front disk...

thanks for your time!!

That's the correct label!

Wallets the limit on how far you want to go. Do you have a mechanical background? A vintage vespa repair shop nearby?

That looks like a euro millennium model. I believe pretty rare in the US. Does it have Ducati or the later Chinese ignition?
Nice find. I'd be buying a new seat too!

Jack221: I'm pretty sure it's a US PX cause of the reflectors on the cowls and front mudguard. I see a DR sticker, maybe kitted to 177??

Correct seat for the model would be this…
https://www.sip-scootershop.com/en/product/seat-piaggio-cm0278020061_79000001

And this is from the last production PX which is more comfortable…

This is the correct seat, if being correct is your intention. You can get them in black, but anthracite seems to be stocked by most sellers:

https://www.sip-scootershop.com/en/product/seat-piaggio-cm0278020061_79000001?usrc=Seats%2C%20Single%20Saddles%2C%20Covers

You have a hybrid looking mirror setup there. Looks like someone has mounted the 'through headset' stalks, rubbers and mirrors onto the older style external mounts, presumably for ease of headset top removal.

Sure looks lovely in Dragon Red.

im laughing at you guys as i have no idea what i am dealing with..too funny..as i am a newbee... I wondered what that sticker was.. yes it does have a DR177 kit. I will be modifying it extensively. BIG aftermarket motor, big expansion chamber, shocks 11" wheels..I will try and leave the vespa body looking OEM..I will lighten the scoot as much as i can like carbon fiber painted red etc. I have removed mirrors, rear rack, spare tire.. that stuff was 10lb.. its now down to 249LB. I bought it for $2800 with 5K miles on it.. its very clean but not perfect. What caused all this is a few weeks ago I went to TN and the dragon... used my buddies scooter. 125 Kymco people.. I have never had so much fun in my life on a bike.. 5 days of mountain riding and twisties... amazing on the scooter..my buddy on his grom was sore and tired..I step off with not a pain.. so nice to ride a scooter..My background is i build custom bikes for a hobbie.. 2 stroke GP style bikes.. that little 125 got me back into trying to build another bike..so this time its the vespa! Thank you all for the info!! I know you will see me posting up a ton..I will obviously use the search function too but sometimes you got to post up and get ideas!! Cheers for now!

Those reflectors are not the usual US ones. I was thinking they were added. No tractor light either. Sure it's a millennium though. Didn't think they were imported to the US.

Will be interesting to see what power someone who does GP bikes gets out of a vespa motor.

They imported PXs in 05-06. By then they ditched the 70s tractor tail light and reflectors for ones you see. I don't know if that was to compete with LML/Stellas, but they gave up after a limited run. You'll see a lot of red PXs here. Silver is rare, black even rarer.

Jack221: No more tractor light on 2005 & 2006 US PXs. They added the reflectors, lots of warning stickers and handlebar switches were also inverted…

Jack, I will be shooting for about 30-40hp i think the bfa306 is nice but the power looks like it is so linear its somewhat boring..I will need to find a high reving big hit combo... there is alot for me to learn about these things lol.. I like the details you guys are talking about.. so intersting the little items like reflectors and tail lights.. i was looking for a smaller tail light.. not to much lucj yet... they all seem to be big! yes, jack...im trying to get use to the right size turn switch.. gonna be wierd!

LT1BIRD: Smallest tail light is the following found on a 50 Special. You'll need to add a brake bulb to it since Specials didn't have one…

Sounds like you're building a track bike with your Vespa! Might be wrong but I think someone did a 306 with 72hp. Looking forward to your build. That Aprilia looks really nice.

Well that explains that. The best tuning platform was in the US, for 1 year only.
You could buy the euro switches to put the indicators on the left.

Going down the BFA route is expensive. They all end up being lower rpm and high torque. Great if your other bike's a Harley.
Using the 150 engine as a donor, malossi VR-one cases and MHR 210 with a long stroke, is the most high rpm fun that can be had on a PX. With much tuning; over 10,000 rpm and approaching 50bhp is possible.
I ride sports bikes too and although 150bhp, they don't feel as exciting. Quick for sure but just so safe and controllable.
