Hi,
I have read all the TPMS related posts here. A lot of you think the external ones are unsafe, especially on rubber valve stems.

I have used external ones for 5 years on classic Lambrettas and Vespas with angled metal valve stems without any problems (up to 75mph). My 2024 Vespa GTS has got rubber valve stems. According to Bennetts this should be no problem, as long as you replace the valve stems with every tyre change. The only problem I see is that the space between the wheel spokes is narrow and the TPMS cap might touch the spoke at high speed. Has anybody used them successfully?

Another question: Someone said the Vespa speedo display is already enabled to show TPMS information. Is that correct? What TPMS are supported by Piaggio?

Cheers,
Semp

When I have been going through the settings menus on my March 24 Vespa super sport I cant recall TPMS being an option. Maybe its a dealer option.

there's a place on the speedo of the current gts to show it - see item N - but zero word from piaggio. don't hold your breath, may never happen.

I use after market internal tpms on mine (cheap generic from aliexpress).

Thanks all. I might ask the dealer where I bought the GTS if he knows anything about it.

That won't get you anywhere...

TPMS is provided in the instrument unit as already described. Piaggio does not provide any further information on this, nor any parts, etc.

It is possible that TPMS will be available for the GTS at a later date. Nor is it said that such a solution can be retrofitted to the current models, I am not assuming that other electronics are installed, I am only assuming that there is a prepared place in the instrument unit.

Good evening! This is my first post here. I have a 2012 GTV and recently bought a 2024 GTS in orange. There is a story behind that impulse buy stopping by my local dealer for coolant and buying a new scooter but I digress. As for TPS aftermarket solutions, I recently went down that rabbit hole with my touring bike, a 2017 Harley Road King Special. After a trip back from my daughter's place in Idaho, I became worried about the pressure in my then in need of replacing front tire. I did a bunch of research and bought an aftermarket cap style TPS system that linked via bluetooth to an app. When I went to the indie mechanic I had for years to get the tire installed, I told him I had opted to return the caps and just do what I have done for years, check when cold. He told me he was very glad to hear I changed my mind. He was willing to install the tire and balance it with the caps but in his over 20 years of experience, has no end of problems with the aftermarket caps causing problems with valve stems. Problems with balance, braking off and self ejecting. I don't find it that much of a problem to check with a digital gauge while on the road or at home every few weeks.
