Hey guys. Been running the 232 kit on this particular PX for some time now, probs about 5.000kms on it, I pulled it apart as the base gasket blew out, bit of seepage around the base of the cylinder.

Just wanting an opinion of the looks of the head/ piston/burn pattern if anyone can shed any light on this for me. TIA.

Maybe the cases are not all that flat across the base of the cylinder? Could explain the leak... you don't use any sealant?

I'm no help on the burn pattern sorry. Just wondering what's going on with the top shock mount sticking through the guard?

Like I said, it's been great for many a km but may have just had enough lately. I use sealant so not sure. Something to keep an eye on I guess.

Not really concern about the burn pattern as it runs great and no issues, just thought there might be a "burn pattern whisperer" who can explain all to me.

scooter n service top shock mount drops the top of the fork by 15mm and the SIP sports shock, another 15mm so all up 30mm, supposed to make it a bit more stable at hwy speeds which I do very often. So far it does still pretty nicely on the road.

another fork for project scooter with the 185mm PK shock and the 15mm top mount... this is an SIP fork that's been cut down FYI

I like it!

I suspect that the one with the PK shock is too short though, the angle of the link is too flat in my opinion to provide enough deflection when hitting bumps. I feel like more force would be transferred to the frame rather than 'absorbed' by the shock. No doubt a touch more caster effect though.

So that S&S bracket only works with the standard P front end, I think... that PK custom fork needed an offset bracket without the lower so it ended up with a near standard link angle
pretty close to standard link angle

Gut feeling is something isn't quite right…

Should be pretty golden brown piston top, (doesn't matter really on jetting), and more of a uniformed pattern that slightly pulls towards the exhaust port.

But I know the Quattrini has a lot more even burn pattern than others.

The marks that the spark plug has made, (the tear shape) suggests a timing issue… (or another guess is the squish is too tight…)

The lack of gold does suggest rich, because the fuel is basically washing the piston clean all the time…
