In a previous post, I had comments about my high mpg on my Primaveras.
On my '22 I've had between 95 and 108 mpg riding country roads and once each week hitting the freeway from Birmingham to Gardendale.
On my '23, riding the same roads with the simular conditions, I'm getting between 92 and 104 mpg calculated. I have the GTS tires on my '23 which accounts for better mpg with the Euro 5 emissions control vs Euro 4 on the '22.
The speed limit on the main road I ride about 5 of the 7.5 miles one way daily is 40 mph. 400 foot elevation increase leaving home but use hardly any fuel coming back down that 3/4 mile stretch downhill.
So, my indicated is 45 mph for most of the ride.
The comment teased me saying I must ride about 20 mph, if I remember correctly.
I decided to try it on the freeway. From near Gardendale to Pelham (Max Motorsports is my dealer there). I made 2 trips after fueling up.
28.5 miles one way.
I rode 60 mph indicated which is about 55 gps except for Red Mountain just south of Birmingham, my speed dropped to 50-53 mph indicated WOT.
I refueled. Once the fuel was at the top, I shook the Primavera to get the air out and added about a $.05 worth. 114 miles on 1.3 gallons.
I have the 39ltr top case and the Givi tall windscreen with 4" cut off the top.
I always ease up on the throttle when going downhill and I don't do jackrabbit starts, though I usually jump ahead of most cages.
