So whilst poking around trying to figure out why I have no spark I saw these cracks in the fan at every hole. The "scratches" are from me rubbing the dirt off to get a better view.

Not sure if I need to be worried right now or if I could keep it.

I will probably be removing it soon as I think the pickup coil is bad(measured 2.5ohm instead of 500ohm) so does this need to be replaced too?

Definitely look like cracks to me but I am not really sure how I would tell. Penetrating oil?

Hmm. Possibly, hard to tell from here. It does look like a rough casting, at the bottom right of the rectangular label there is also casting imperfections too.

Looks to me more of a metal fatigue crack related to heat and cold cycles, age, vibration and centrifugal force.
