No scooters on this ride. No Sir. Time for the 750 Kawasaki. I have done this event before and usually at some time the pace gets pretty brisk. Hence, time for the big machine. It started slowly out of Poughkeepsie and was pretty calm for the first part. Eventually, as people on Big V-Twins started to use their right wrist more, I was glad for the available strength of the 750. Despite being forty-one years old it makes some acceptable horsepower when needed. This ride was an eye opener as the day went on. I thought I was pretty familiar with most of the roads around here but they showed me a few I had not seen before that were just amazing. Numerous curves, rises and descents had me on my toes all day. The big Kawasaki had its gearbox and brakes in use for many miles without drama. Eventually we returned to the start where live music and hot food were waiting. It was one of those days when you were really sorry to put the bike back in the garage.
