Hello,

I bought a 2024 Vespa Sprint S 150. I assumed that I would be able to connect with Bluetooth devices, but I saw on the website that I need a Vespa MIA.

Has anyone else installed it yet? Is it worth it?

Is Vespa MIA 3 the current version?

Thanks

Hi, I have a Vespa Sprint 150 S 2022 model. It connects directly with Bluetooth devices, without having to buy anything extra. This is a European model, that might be different from the US. My mobile is a Samsung Galaxy S22, for some reason that will not connect, I've tried all solutions. My former phone, the S20, connects without any difficulties.

Last time I was at my dealer having a service, there were updates to the Bluetooth module within the Vespa. Apparently this unit has updates quite regularly, so there's a chance that if the problem is on the Vespa side - it might already be fixed.

For the OP, my Sprint Sport also had everything built in - no need to buy any additional hardware.

Since the 2024 facelift (in Europe from spring 2024), the Primavera S and Sprint S 125/150 have "lost" their fully digital speedometer, which has been reserved for the Primavera Tech since then (there is no Sprint Tech!). At the same time, the Bluetooth module (Vespa MIA) is no longer available as standard, but only as an option for an additional charge.

Thanks, but problem is that the phone does not connect/pair to the Vespa. The light on the scooter display does not go on, it tries to pair but fails. So it's not the app.

Uninstall the app and delete any Bluetooth connection between the smartphone and vehicle. Start from the beginning strictly as described in the operating instructions.

The fact that pairing does not work with retrofitted Vespa MIA modules is often due to a different software version of the control units. Only a software update at the dealer will help. However, as you had the Vespa MIA as standard in the 2022, I don't think this is the problem, as it has worked before (with the old smartphone).

I contacted the Vespa workshop today, they say that sw updates are coming frequently so this will most probably solve this. I will take it into 10k kms service in a moth or so, it has run 8.5k kms now.

I've been through the complete uninstall of the app, remove pairing etc. I even reset all Bluetooth and network settings on my phone. Nothing helps, the phone sees the BT-ROUTER but fails upon pairing. The strange thing is that the Vespa app works without this, but the phone is not connected ie receiving calls, text, music, contacts is not available. Only the statistics on the app, after each drive.

Only the Mia lamp lights on the display, not the phone light. And not possible to connect BT headset in helmet, since none of the mobile functions are available.

no, not for the first generation supertech like yours (bt-router) whereas the current generation has had a few updates (pmp3).

well then it is paired.

I'm assuming you had tried tried 'reset' in the *bikes* dashboard (iirc settings, config, pairing, reset) not just in the phones bluetooth?

two things:

1) in the phones bluetooth settings open the details of the bt-router and check the few switches that do things such as allow the bike to control phone calls. (take a screenshot if you're not sure)

2) while the app is connected to the bike go to the 'menu' tab then I think the next is called 'device config'. The following screens are slow to load (they are retrieving info from the bike). You'll see your old phone listed (unless you chose reset on the bike's dashboard), remove it. then select you phone in the list and you may have to change it from 'app only' to 'smartphone'. then make sure this 'sticks' by leaving these menus, turning off the bike, close the app, open the app, reconnect and then going back in to these menus.

I wish there was such an option on the Sprint, but only "pairing" in the menu.

I'll check out the rest.

Thanks a LOT 🙂
This worked! It is not possible to delete a mobile from the Vespa Sprint menus directly, but by removing it from the app while connected as suggested, it re-paired completely and all lights went on, on the scooter display. All seems to work now!
Thanks again!

My Bt-router one has had updates at every service I've had, the most recent being a couple of months ago.

2022 Sprint Sport, it shows up as "Bt-router" on my phone, so I'm assuming it's the bt-router version and not the pmp3?

I stand corrected. Although my 2019 Supertech had an update about 3 or 4 years ago and none since (last check was last year).

Bt-router is really called pmp2 but since most people don't see that name it's easier to call it bt-router.

Edit:
Just thinking, maybe you didn't have an update for the pmp/bt-router but instead had an update for ECU? Or at least some of those updates. There are 4 computers in your bike after all (ecu, abs, dash, pmp)
