I picked up some new projects today:
1979 P200 - Incredibly clean and unmolested. No rust and no dings in the body. Hasn't run for more than 20 years. Tank is clean. PO says it needed a clutch and that was what parked it.
1974 Primavera 125. With only 750 miles on it it has had a hard life. It is all there but will need bodywork, AND, I think the front fork is bent. You will see in the pictures why I think that.
1979 50 Special. Missing loads of stuff and some rot around where the battery once was. But straight and no real rust anywhere else. Will be needing a tank, carb, and both doors if anyone has these stashed away.
First going to go through the P200. Usual checks, cables, hardware, brakes, check the harness, etc. Then pull the engine and replace the seals and maybe the cruciform. Not a huge fan of replacing the bearings if they don't need to be. A good clean is usually all that is needed. Get it running and then figure what to do with it.
The other two are more of a challenge. I have never had nor worked on a small frame. Same routing as the P200 but with a more intense engine rebuild and perhaps an upgrade on the Primavera.
Does anyone have an opinion on whether the parts are fully interchangeable between the 50 and the 125? Would the fork from the 50 fit on the 125? I may want to build a SS homage scoot from the pair.
Thoughts and suggestions appreciated.
