My Honda Magna 750 has a training wheels type conversion, and I think it would be great on a Piaggio MP3
The first 5 wheel motorcycle would start a revolution in travel

It's been done, and it was a shit-show.
There was a rider some years ago here in California that bought an MP3 thinking that it would be a remedy for her inability to balance a large bike (as many others have mistakenly believed). She bought the MP3, found that it wasn't what she thought it was, and then compounded her mistake by having a trike kit installed. Besides being a nightmare to install, it was also a nightmare to service, especially when it came time to changing tires. Five wheels is too many wheels. Please, for the love of dog, don't do it. If you want a trike kit, a two-wheel bike (scooter or motorcycle) is a much, much better candidate.

your not the first , probably around the 5th to do it.
doing a trike on a mp3 totally defeats the whole front end suspension and being able to lean. your riding on a horizontal flat stick. But you do you if that what you want. its been done though. |

I will be the first because my conversion is just like training wheels that flexes which ever side you're leaning.

May I ask why you're running that setup? Would it work better on something like a Vespa GTS as you're starting with a lot less weight?

My conversion is 2" square bar steel base with welded on crossmembers that position the spring hinges that take the place of an axle, so the wheels are very light but the springs act as axles and shocks/springs like on a car. Still they need the weight of at least a 500cc engine so they can flex up slightly on either side or bounce up if you run over solid objects, so the only problem I foresee is the rear connection to the bike or MP3 frame, like it works on my Honda Magna. It has heavy 90 degree corner that allow it to be bolted through the rear frame, and the front is bolted and welded into the the rear foot pegs.

I don't have an mp3 yet but I may remove the conversion from my Honda Magna and trade it for a Piaggio
