Acquired a beautiful unmolested 64' Allstate that was titled in 66'. Sister in laws Father bought it new, put get this, 800 miles on it and parked it in 68. Brother was told he thought the magneto went out and I am the go to "he should be able to get it to run" guy. It has original bill of sale with payment terms, tool kit and the manual that has enough instructions to build a new one from scratch (amazing). The rear seat pad seems to be the only option.

I have picked up a few neglected bikes over the years and am now up to what I can consider a fleet.

A bit of mystery oil in the plug hole for a day then a kick and a spark appeared! This may be easier than expected (famous last words)

Well, since you insist

This is one where I don't have an idea on value, I saw there was a restored/modified Allstate in Cleveland for like $3300 that didn't appear to be moving anywhere fast at that price.

I will be keeping it all original, the chrome is showing some age but it is only original once.

I guess my next step is to get to the carb and tank and clean the fuel system.

I am oddly tempted to mix up some fuel and see if she fires, what do you think? The tank is dry and pretty clean.

My past experiences tell me to go through the fuel system first but I am so tempted.

Smart play is to pull and clean the tank. I mean.. It looks pretty good all things considered, but rust specks are not friendly to carburetors.

Amazing condition and such low miles! Congrats, you are a lucky man.

You can do both. Just drop a spoonful of premixed gas down the carb throat after you pull the air filter if you just wanna hear it fire off for some extra encouragement!

first of all, great bike.

i too have a mid 60's red Allstate with the same exact green sticker on it.

if it were mine, i would only do light maintenance on it; it's just too nice.

Thanks everyone!
I probably will rig up my testing tank to see if she fires when I take the tank out.

1968 PA inspection sticker, the PA plate from back in the day is too cool.

I know what is going to happen next, this will lead me into a rabbit hole where I need to get another to actually play with, then another because small body...and so on. ROFL emoticon

You probably know your horn, headlite rim and fender crest are chromed - the rest of the trim is aluminum. That mint leggy trim and those floor rails will polish up real nice!

Just noticed the nice aluminum leggy trim. My '58 AllState came without. I'll bet you know when they started including it?

I could be wrong but only the red VBB ones came with the trim. Whatever year they offered a choice of Blue paint (VNB) or Red paint (VBB). The 125's never had the trim, the 150's did as far as I was aware anyways.

The site I saw listed it as a 64, 125, 4 speed based on model number and the pics all show the trim. Sears must have bought a warehouse full for mine not to be titled till 66.

that is a time capsule indeed, wonderful!

before you try to fire her up, drop a few drops of oil down the sparkplug hole so the rings get lubed and increase compression.

Beautiful scoot. Throw that stock plug as far as you can throw it. (or keep it on the shelf). Scooter will run much better with a NGK B7HS.

Thanks for the heads up on the plug, always had good results with NGK in my big bikes.

So, the fuel tap is stuck to the left and I'm hesitant to force it but what I have read that lever has to point up when working the tank out of the body. Any words of wisdom?

Doesn't need to be up to take the tank out. More like a 1:30/2 o'clock setting. Wiggling and pushing the lever through the hole should get you there.
