I'm thinking of moving from a 2020 Sprint S 150cc (Grigio Materia) with 2k miles to a 2024 GTS Super Sport 300 (Grigio Travolgente). Is it worth the added cost? I bought my Sprint lightly used, so I saved a few bucks, and the jump is nearly double to go to the new GTS. I've never ridden a 300cc Vespa, so I'm not sure how it compares. Also, is the matte paint more difficult to maintain? Any thoughts are welcome.

For visual's sake. Here's my Sprint 150 with it's current mods, vs the GTS in Matte Gray.

Do you want to go faster and have a bigger scooter?

That's about the reason you'd do the jump so....only one who can say is it worth it is you.

I love my gts but never had a 150.

Looking at supplementing it with a trident, scrambler 900, or bobber. But that's mostly the bed-rest talking

How do you use your Sprint? How do you want to use a scooter in the future? The GTS is capable of higher speeds, reliably traveling longer distances, and feels more firmly planted at speed. It also handles hills better than smaller scooters. I enjoy riding on rural 2 lane highways and country roads. The GTS excels at this kind of riding. I have found my GTS to be one of the most versatile of scooters. Now, if all your riding is in urban and suburban settings where speeds never exceed 50 mph, the Sprint is likely to fulfill your needs. Your call. Only YOU know what YOU want to do on a scooter.

In terms of cleaning the matte paint, you can't use any "wash and wax" products. Ironically, one of the best cleaners is washing up liquid for dishes - it strips all oil / tree sap residue off the surface and keeps the matte look - so that side of maintenance is extremely easy.

The difficult part is that of protection. To me, scratches are more noticeable, and they can't be buffed out. So it's important to be careful with having items sat on the floor board as you ride.

I decided that the matte paint will patina over time, and took this philosophy, so I'm not too fussed with the odd mark. If you're someone who meticulously waxes vehicles to a mirror shine showroom condition - matte paint probably isn't for you.

In England, we have a GTS125 with a hp more than the air-cooled Sprint 125, so I compared these two when purchasing mine.

I liked my Sprint as the weight was a lot less (better handling), it was air-cooled by a crank mounted fan (so no coolant to maintain / check), reliability seems much higher on the Sprint (no oil burning issues etc).

The pros for the large frame were the larger glovebox, larger storage under the seat and more space if riding two up regularly. For you, there will obviously be a big power jump to consider as you're considering the 300.
