Hi all,

So I've finally almost blacked out my GTS, and the only bit left is the water pump housing.

I've got a BGM water pump cover which looks lovely and wondered what is involved in taking the water pump cover off for powder coating.

I've seen YouTube videos that makes it look dead simple and some where the whole engine has to be disconnected and lifted.

I have neither the inclination or the talent to do the whole engine thing so wondering if it is a simple job to remove the cover, strip and have powder coated before installing the lovely bfm cover and red coolant hoses…?

Any help really appreciated!

looking at the parts manual I'd though you wouldn't get at the top bolts behind the fuel tank without at least lowering / tilting the engine a long way? maybe show us the video you find that makes it look "dead simple"

Subbed. I'm about to do this on mine. How do you like the BGM 13" wheels?

I did this a little over a week ago. Two points I'd like to share: 1 use a hand impact driver to remove the screws. Can you get it off without? Maybe, maybe not.
2. use a pinch type crimp clamp for the small middle hose. It is soooooo cramped for space back there I stood no chance of using a traditional hose clamp.

I've re-watched the video with the knowledge that I may need to disconnect and Jack up the engine and it's been cleverly edited to miss that bit out!

There is clearly a Jack under the engine at one point so I'm sticking with just the cover and hoses!

Only fitted them last weekend so not actually ridden yet, but I sure enjoy looking at them!

Thanks, good advice I'm sure!

I didn't realise it would be quite that big when I ordered it but am pleased with the final look.

It's barely visible once the exhaust is on and a nice piece of detail (imo).
