I have read through the service guide and looked in the illustrated parts list and cannot determine the function of the component shown in the photo. It is located on the parking brake bracket and the cable runs up to the ignition. Can someone please provide some info.

that is art of the ignition lock assy. so when you turn to the lock position that will more over and when the parking lever is engaged its fully locked. you must unlock with the key to disable.

the mp3 does not have a fork lock like alot of motorcycles so this is a piaggio version to make it harder to steal the scooter.
