Hi everybody.
My name is Hutchy, I'm living in the South West of France. I' m mechanic enthusiast. Quickly, I have an old 911 SC from 1978, a Macan SD from 2016, a Sherco 300 SC (enduro bike) and also GTS 125 2009. I do mechanic and stuff in all these cars and bikes and also others…
As I'm buying a 300 GTS. There is several work to do on it. The motor is almost dead (lack of oil, crankshaft is singing…), but my question is about keys. I cannot found answer is France because modernvespa forum are like just to change a bulb in the headlight 🤣🤣.
My question : on the 300 GTS I will buy, there is the blue key but not the red one (master key) and not the keycard a priori.
Is it possible to recode a new red key with the blue key into the neiman as the procedure for a new blue key or it an obligation to go to the Vespa dealer to use the diagnostic tool to recode the new red key?
If you have any tips.

Thank you

I do not know what key services are available to you, but in the US it is possible to clone another blue key from an existing blue key. It is not possible to make a new red (brown) key from an existing blue key. AF1 is an American dealer/distributor which provides this service. You can search a number of previous posts on this subject on Modern Vespa.

Yes, it is possible, you have three options.

1. read the special part of the memory of the ECU, which contains the Key ID of the Master Key, than with a programmable Transponder, write the Key ID to it.

2. Virginize the ECU, deleting both Key ID, than read both Transponder ID from the Key with a separated Tool, than write both into the ECU

3. Buy new or used ECU with both key.

For 1, 2 exists special tools, for the transponder part and for the reading and writing of the key which is specific for that or dumping the memory and knowing where the key is stored.

Some ECU needs to be opened and soldered, to read the specific part of the memory or to write the key id.

Thank you for your answer. I have read the solution to make a clone of the blue key, it's a good solution to have another key is case of lost. But the solution with the brown key is the best.
I need to found somebody with the tool able to read the ÉCU and recode the brown key.
