I've a 22 gts 300 HPE and done 10k on her with a PM Tuning module and a PM85 exhaust, I'm learning about it every day. I tuned T5s as a kid and now am getting to grips with the 4-stroke and it's pretty spectacular.

What I want to do is put a new injector in to get better acceleration and not top end. But, I'm gonna have to mix up the Computer Module to match what injector I put in.

1. what sizer injector?

2. what settings would I alter on the module to match the extra fuel input?

Ride safe.

Easy to flood the engine doing this.

The pre-HPE 250 and 300 use an IWP182 injector, flow rate 158cc@3 bar (Vespa uses 2 bar fuel pressure). Alternatives are IWP158 170cc@3 bar and IWP176 166cc@3 bar.

But I haven't a clue what the HPE engines use - easy enough for you to pull yours out and look it up. The HPE engine is more highly tuned than previous models, and might be very sensitive to any fiddling.

My 2023 model uses an IPE085 injector, a very different design not compatible with the IWP ones, and I haven't been able to find out anything about it. Seems to be unique to Vespas.

I think re-mapping the EU would be much more productive than fiddling with injectors. But one needs a dyno to set the mapping up properly.

I agree with others that remapping or adding a throttle control device is the better choice. The throttle control device will basically increase your throttle inputs giving a better and quicker response (1/4 throttle open with result in 1/2 throttle open with same amount of twist). However, you will notice a loss in MPG....

I have a PM computer module which is a re-map and the throttle ring to match.

In Europe, they are changing the size of the injectors with the Malossi Module (chip) and I want to know how to remap the PM 'chip' to match a larger injector.

What is a "throttle ring"?

Yes, but it has a complete body redesign to yours from the wheels up, and if it was an E5 model it would have a different exhaust, so why should I assume my engine is otherwise identical to yours? I've no idea whether the earlier HPE models used an IWP or an IPE injector.

Parts catalogue says it's the same CM291201. Photo shows it's an IPE085. https://www.sip-scootershop.com/en/product/fuel-injector-piaggio-for-vespa-gts-gts-super-gtv-300ccm-hpe-18_PI291201?usrc=CM291201

If you are curious about the HPE E4 vs E5 (which you don't have) here are the mapping details TunerPro XDF for ECU mappings of GTS 300 HPE MIUG4 (Post 2693128)

Thanks, Steelbytes. The fittings for the IPE injector look different to the IWP ones which I have a collection of, but I can't find any specs for the IPE085 anywhere anyway.

Looks like the only differences between the E4 and E5 engines is the exhaust with an extra catalyzer, and the ECU programming.
