I made this one:
I wasn't happy with it, thinking I could make it thinner.
So for the past 2 nights, I went to tinkering in the garage and make several variation out of scrap plastic I had. It was getting late and the old back started aching. This would be my last attempt today. I had a old plastic fender from a wrecked Burgman. Stiff but easily cut.
First thought was to just let the long section facing the front be steadied by the brake handle. But it would spin around when not activated.
So, I bent it to fit between the throttle cables. That worked. I used the heat gun to bend it and a small section of the ring portion flared. I didn't notice until I fit it and it stayed locked. Reheated the plastic and flattened it out very smooth.
I cut the center hole so it would fit over the throttle sleeve flange very loose.
Then I tapered the inner edges of the plastic circle so it would wedge between the throttle sleeve and switch housing. I didn't know which I'd prefer, so I did top and bottom so it can be activated by pushing up or down.
Put the grip back on for a test fit
Yep, it's thinner than other variations I've tried.
Final test with everything reassembled.
It works. It's cheap. I made it myself. Tomorrow I'll clean it up so it don't look so dirty.
