I've done a fair bit of searching concerning an issue I am having with my 2020 Liberty 50.

I bought it a month ago and it only had about 450 miles on it.

When I start it, the scooter sometimes surges on idle.
Not all the time, just sometimes. It seemed to only do it after warming up for a few minutes, and would go away after my normal commute to work. (about 5 miles)
I ran it out in the country roads where I live and after about 30-40 mins the CIL light came on. It cleared on a restart.

I started out by running some RedLine though it, with no improvement.

I then let it idle and sprayed carb cleaner around the intake area and throttle body. No increase in revs.

I then tried letting it warm up and blew about 15 pounds into the exhaust and it maintained pressure.

Not sure what to try next.

Are there some seals or gaskets that need to be replaced after 4-5 years?

Im usually pretty good at this but this one has me scratching my head.

So I went out and let it idle for a while. It started surging/hunting after about 2 mins and did that for about 4 mins before the idle dropped down. And it stopped surging. It ran at low idle fine for about 10 mins and started surging again then stopped for a few minutes before the CIL light came on about 20 mins.

After I removed the valve the scooter idled really low.
After about a week of riding it, the CEL started to come on after about 25 minutes of riding, and my MPG was suffering pretty badly and I was getting around 40-50 MPG.

I ordered a replacement and installed it and that appears to have fixed it entirely.

The Piaggio part was 50 dollars or more, but it looks like it is a common part that several car manufacturers use.

I did a search for the item below and found it for around $10 dollars US.

28910-26900 Purge Control Valve Vapor Canister Purge Solenoid Compatible with Hyundai Accent Genesis Equus, for Kia Rio Rio5 Soul Borrego.

Part No.#9270930003丨0280142539丨911-808

Hope this helps someone.
