I have no clue how long it'll be before I dig into ye olde v90, I snapped this pic with my Temu endoscope doohickey.

Anyone got ideas on how much additional damage I'll find?

Broken ring, or circlip, or small end bearing, or ? (in increasing order of mess)

pull the cylinder and piston, inspect the rotary pad...

if it was a ring or circlip and the shrapnel stayed out of the crank then a top end will do it. otherwise it's new crank time as well.

Regrettably if something got past the transfer port then you could be in for barrel scoring too. As said above, open her up expect the worst and be pleased if its just the top end.

Good results on that Temu borescope though👍

Could also be the big-end bearing. That's what took out my crank a couple months ago.

You need to find whatever has you super-lean and fix that while you're at it, too.

What makes you feel it was too lean? Plug came out a nice chocolate shake color.

The piston crown is waaaaaay too light for a healthy motor.

Unfortunately it doesn't have that many miles on it, it never went much over 300*F on the CHT gauge.
