Modern Vespa

Someone approached me in a parking lot, showed interest in my GT and asked if I would consider selling it.

I have too many vehicles in general and too many scooters in particular so I said I would consider it.

Of course he then asked how much I wanted. I said I would check to see what they are selling for and he should call me tomorrow. That is why I am here.

Let me describe it. 2005. 25K miles. Vespa top case. Needs a new rear tire. Runs perfectly. Everything works except the fuel gauge and I have a new sender to go with it. It also comes with a new belt and rollers. The belt was changed 2000 miles ago.

The top case had been removed for these photos and is now reinstalled

Now the bad news. It has been laid over and badly scratched on both sides.

I have a number in mind but I want to get an opinion or two from all of you.

What do you think?

Now the bad news

19 years old, beat up and $150 for a new tire installed, I'm saying $1,400.

That's exactly how much I was thinking.

put a decal over that left side scratch and raise the price by $200

I usually hang onto my GT's, but I sold one a couple of months ago.

It was the beautiful Razzo, a black 2005 GT with 41,000 miles.

I had owned it for almost ten years.

I bought it from Driller.

It had 6100 miles on it then, and it still looks new.

Never dropped.

It is a stunning beauty but I noticed a strange noise that I found to be a broken exhaust stud.

I figured big dollars to fix it, plus I have too many scooters anyway, so I sold it to a couple in the 7 Bridges Scooter Club.

$1,000.

He got the stud out and a new one in, so now it is good again.

I really liked the scooter but am happy to have extra space in my garage.
