Hi everyone perhaps someone might help please?

Long story short my auto choke did not work, i have two et4 pre leaders, starting to have enough of them now, last month stator, month before fuel sensor, regulators, cdis one thing after another i could go on lol well it turned out the 12v cable to choke was only 9.4 ish volts.. should be around 13v when bike running. ok followed red/white cable back to the green relay under seat box on rubber mount under the frame. swapped with one on other bike , all good and works fine. ok so i thought cheap fix a relay... Crying or Very sad emoticon Crying or Very sad emoticon Crying or Very sad emoticon
Part number 294859, Ebay search had me falling off my chair for a £17 or $20 part, seller in Germany wants around £180 for used one of these!

so maybe someone has an alternative? its not like a normal relay, really inside one of these is around 5 resistors and a diode thats about it? no coil, no circuit that can make a switch turn on or off? has 4 pins, labelled E,B,L and nothing on middle pin. Looking at wiring diagram E = earth, makes sense lol B goes to switch, regulator blah blah blah i know whats inside i cut the bastard in half because whoever made them used epoxy stuck to inside the lid, so when u unclip it from case it does not pull apart!

well im now wondering if there is a chance someone somewhere has discovered an alternative, pin lay out not evan your standard 4 pin relay, a 5 pin relay has the same pin layout as 4 but with extra pin? sorry im gonna swear... ok done it! ROFL emoticon

i will add picture of the inside one of these stupid things when i find it i drop kicked it into the back of my garage, and fell inbetween some storage boxes old hifi equipment, with push bikes stacked on it, you know the usual junk pit!

Any ideas well appreciated

What does the other side of the circuit board look like? One of those pins looks a bit cooked where it enters the board - dry joint perhaps? Two seconds with a soldering iron and you could be AOK.

Hi jimc

That first resistor with bent pin is my fault as getting my multi meter in there, set on Ohms i did not get a reading from that first resistor while the others i did, im not a electrician far from it so im assuming maybe that resistor has gone bad. So have ordered a replacement resistor from Ebay then i give it a shot with my soldering iron. if goes pear shaped atleast i had a go ROFL emoticon

they call this a stater relay? has nothing to do with starting, its soul purpose is to power the auto choke.
Bike, lights, electrics run fine without it apart from choke stuck open.
If i cant find replacement i just convert choke to manual

the links so far from various kind members on here have not bought any luck yet as wont deliver to Uk. i keep looking.
