Modern Vespa

The streets I ride my Sprint 150 on are often mostly smooth. I still have to watch out for long cracks in the pavement or uneven patches here or there but...the other day I was riding (early in the morning, as usual) on a long seemingly perfect stretch of road, and my mind seized on something I did once in a while in my teens: water skiing on two skis. Of course, water skiing can be quite bumpy at times, but sometimes it was like gliding across glass. I know by reading posts on this forum that many find the Sprint or Primavera not quite as smooth a ride as a GTS, but often I find riding my Sprint a blissful experience.

I consider my GTS300 to be an exceptionally smooth-running machine, but, to me anyway, it's not a smooth riding machine on anything other than very good road surfaces.

It's all relative, of course, but that short wheelbase, combined with the small wheels and 'marginally ok suspension' makes for a pretty bumpy ride at times.

Any of our three motorcycles ride like clouds compared to my Vespa....but that's ok, after all, it's a VESPA isn't it?

Also an owner of a Sprint and a GTS. I know what you mean about the Sprint. It's just such a light, easy scoot to ride it really is a pleasant almost serene change-up from the big brother. They make a good team.
