Did anyone see the announcement from Robot at ScooterWest? Due to poor sales and inventory overstock, they have reduced pricing on '23 models by $1,500. Similar price reductions on the '24 models, but due to retail rules, (I guess from Vespa), you have to call them to get the actual price reduction.

I'm glad I didn't buy mine last month, or I'd be unhappy. I guess it's an opportunity for some on the fence about buying a new or leftover model. Probably says something about the motorcycle and scooter market in general.

Its always a dilemma with bike manufacturers prices. I wanted a March 24 date on my uk bike. Vespa ran a rolling month sales incentive of £500 for registrations by the end of Oct through to February 24. Guess what they stopped it in March , then restarted in June , this time £650 off!

My rationale was since I part exd another bike, it was a cost to change and I was riding on March 1st not waiting until June when my part ex would also be lower.

There also are a measure of folks who get all excited about scooting around. They get the new Vespa, then it sits in their garage unridden.

So, I expect there will be a bunch of steal deals out there.

not just motorcycles and scooters, car dealers are having over stock issues now as well.

its the inflation causing folks to not be buying, their income has to go to food and rent and utilities.

TVA just announced they are increasing electric rates by 5%

There was a lot of money floating around a few years ago, getting checks in the mail......
New bikes prices stayed high and coming out of Covid, many of the dealerships by me could not keep stock on the floor - they went out as soon as they came in. Used bike prices, which used to drop during the winter, stayed steady and sometimes climbed! But not any more, the pendulum is swinging back the other way. Some 2023 models are still on the floor, and with the 2025's coming next month, many dealers are slashing prices. Now is the time to buy if you are in the market for a new ride.

I don't see car dealers having the same amount of problems moving stock. But money has tightened up, no doubt. But I never bought a new vehicle in my life, so I'm hardly an expert.

Max Motorsports here in Alabama has $1000 off the previous year models. I've already purchased 2 but now they are trying to get me to purchase a 3rd

latest rumour on the german forum is that the 2025 gts gets a new head with variable valves but not an increase in cc (not 310cc). plus update to euro5+

The badge on the side of a Vespa is not well correlated to the actual cc. Sometimes the badge is smaller eg the gts "150" is actually 155cc.

Could Piaggio use a new head with variable valves and gain a small amount of hp and stick a badge on it saying "310"? Yes, I see this as plausible.

Am i predicting this? I'm not making any predictions but I do enjoy speculating

Depends on what part of the country you live, in the DMV sales of cars, bikes, and homes are at record highs. I have never seen so many homes $700k to $1.2 mil sell so fast (averaging about 7 days on the market). While I have mixed feelings about car dealers (as they price gouge when the times are good) they are moving inventory except for the EVs that have really slowed down, CARMAX is full of Teslas LOL! Restaurants are doing well too 7 days a week not just weekends. My own 401k rose by 15% over the past 8 months, perhaps I should go take advantage of those Scooter West deals....
