They're easy to rebuild if its not working properly.

Before buying a new rear damper, I'd be more inclined to invest $$$ into adding a damper to the front fork. I don't know what the cost involved is though.

I rebuilt mine. Fairly easy and seals are available. I posted some pics of the process here a year or two ago. I'll try to find them.
