Very curious if anyone can confirm, the owner said '57 but it looks more like '46/'47 to me.

Need more pics but my bodge radar is ringing… which is to say it may be very difficult to ID the actual year and model(s) used to put that together.

Any vin numbers visible?

Maybe VN2T if you squint right?

The horn and suspension cover are suspect, though. The lock on the glovebox seems odd, too.

Here's some reference for a '57:

Not a 1947 by any stretch. Looks like a legit '56/'57. Even the color looks like an honest attempt. The lock on the glove box door is not correct as pointed out. the little hole on the latch lever is correct though (for your tiny pad lock to secure the contents)

"Did handle bar bikes have dampers?"

Yes. Vespas did. Only allstates and U models came without.

The red indicator on the head light tells us that it's from after '53, definitely not a '98 model (model named after the amount of cc's of the first Faro Basso's even though later ones had 125CC while still having the some look as the original '98 with the open engine cowl) however we need more pics to pin point precisely.

Flywheel cover is a good indicator for year is different between 1953/1954VM1/2T (round hole) and the later ones like the VN's (Y shape i believe).

Glove box lock can be legit, was an option even back in '53, I have one on my '53VM1T.

But again, we really need better pics.

BTW: just googled where Calaforte is, darn, that place looks gorgeous!

It was well wedged behind the table, tried my best but ya they had the Vespa book on top of it. Was apparently the owners father's scooter. So cool.
