Hey all,

I've got a px200 disc. I was out on it today and when I started it, it there was a really weird noise, it sounded like a fan. I turned it off right away and had a look at the engine to see if anything was loose or something, but it was all ok. When I restarted, the noise was gone and so was all the electrics, indicators, horn etc. I assumed it was the electric start that blew but would it have blown a fuse or something to kill everything else? I'm ok with the mechanical stuff but I'm not great with electrics so I need some advice.

Thanks!

Seems plausible. The electric start runs off the battery and if anything related to the electric start (relay, motor) was powered up, it could have popped the fuse. Fuse holder is by the battery FYI.

Really only 2 rotating parts in your PX200: starter motor and the flywheel. I'd start there.

Yeah I think it was a surge in power in the starter somehow. It sounded like it kept running even after the bike was going.

The battery is totally dead and won't take a charge from my charger, and the lights, horn, indicators all work when it's disconnected.

I noticed it has a 10A fuse rather than the 8A that my Haynes manual recommends. There seems to be mixed messages online about which one to use.
