Thinking it's the carburetor. Carb cleaner worked instantly a few months ago now if it does turn over it's only for a second then dies on me. New sparks and new battery. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Wanted to add that before it did this latest episode. While running, it would slowly try to die out, and while idling I needed to keep giving some throttle to keep it running. If that helps!

Based on the video, your battery need to be properly charged on a charger for 24hrs.

Have you sprayed some ether into the air intake, then try to start it?

Have you pulled the plug and determined if it is wet or not?

Have you inspected all the full lines, vacuum lines, and intake manifold for leaks?

Try starting with the gas cap removed (vapor lock).

Battery is pretty new about 3 months old. Plug checked, lines all confirmed no leaks. Used ether/carb cleaner - worked a few months ago but not today.

Going to pull the carb out and do a proper clean next.

pull the sparkplug out, keep it attached to the coil, hold the end of the sparkplug against some metal on the engine, and crank the starter. See if there is strong and consistent spark. If not, there is something wrong with your plug wire or CDI.

Clean both jets on the carb really well.

If your carb is not making your sparkplug wet, then you have a fuel system problem.

Your battery may be 3 months old, but it is very weak from all the cranking you have done. It needs to be charged.
