Hello from Sweden!
I am 54 years old, slightly gray-haired, bearded, and very fond of Vespas.
I've owned many mopeds since my teenage years, and the last two as an adult were a Velosolex and a Piaggio Ciao.
Those two mopeds weren't really made for a 2-meter tall, 100-kg red-haired giant, so they kept breaking down all the time.
Since I live in an apartment and have two kids, I've never been able to tinker with the mopeds for long periods. Up to the apartment in the morning, tinker, tinker, tinker, and down to the street in the evening. It got very tiring over time.
I simply had to buy a new moped, and it ended up being a Vespa Primavera 50 4t3v from 2018.
It's safe to ride and always works.
It might be a bit sluggish and slow, so I've spiced it up with a
- CDI Malossi Injtronic Piaggio
- Malossi multivar
- New Kevlar belt (replaced after the old one wore out)

The CDI swap was really satisfying as it revved up and could suddenly go pretty fast.
Unfortunately, the shifting with the original 6.5g rollers was too inconsistent.
So I got a multivar, and all of a sudden, the shifting was much better with 6.1g weights, and it still went quite fast (for a moped).
Well, but i want slightly more power so, the reason I came here to Modern Vespa is that I want to learn from your expertise, ask questions, and discuss further tuning of my Vespa.
You know so much, and you seem like a fun and friendly bunch.

This is going to be fun!

Welcome to MV and congratulations on your first post.

Have a look at the following thread: [NSR] Crazy cat people let's see your cats

I wish you a safe ride and lots of fun with your Vespa!

By the way: do you know the difference between IKEA and Vespa? In a Vespa you often find screws lost in the frame during assembly, with IKEA there are always a few screws missing... 🙈🤣

Welcome to MV!

Two meters, eh? Funny, I was visiting Germany years ago, and someone came up to me and asked me how tall I was....two meters? I paused, did the math, and answered "Genau!"

Vespas are surprisingly room for us tall folk....

I always forget that you dont use the metric system.

Regarding the cat, we have two balinese and one nude Peter Bald.
The pic is from our summerhouse in Finland where the cats runs free all day.
When we come back to sweden/stockholm again the small guys are very happy to be indoor cats again.
