Check that the connections to the battery are clean and tight.

How are you recharging the battery?

Can you try the kickstarter and give it a bit of gas at the same time

And you run the risk of cracking the very expensive case.
Buy a multi-meter and make sure you are getting 12V+ down to the starter.

If there's a clicking, the starter button is likely okay. First, hook the battery to a car battery with a set of jumper cables, but don't start the car, and try to start the scooter. If it turns over and starts, no matter what you think about your battery, it's likely bad.
Make sure the engine is grounded to the frame. There's a wire that goes down to the front bolt on the variator cover. Is that there and connected to something else? If not, that's likely your issue, but it should still be sort of trying to turn over.
Bypass the relay with a couple of screwdrivers. If this sparks like crazy when you touch them together and turns the engine over, Your problem is the relay or above the relay. If it sparks like crazy but doesn't turn the engine over, your problem is likely the starter or flywheel. Before you take the starter off, open the little black cover on the variator cover and see if you can turn the engine over with a screwdriver, or at least move it a bit. If you can't, it's likely the flywheel has come apart. If you can, pull the starter and do the poor man's bench test by hooking it up to a battery and pushing it into something wooden. If it has enough friction to burn the wood, the starter works.
