Hello - I just had my 12,000 service done and I am getting my pulley system replaced as well as everything else- I was told they had to order the parts and it may be a week or so before they arrive. Is it ODD that a VESPA dealership wouldn't have these parts??

Pulley system — as in variator and clutch pulley? Why are they being replaced at only 12k miles?
I could see how a dealer might keep these items in stock but equally understand how they wouldn't, as they're not regular maintenance items. |

How much is he charging for these unnamed 27(!) parts?
if it was only the dump/idler pulley then not surprised that not in stock and it's cheap. if the whole system then expensive and having some of the parts in stock - sure - but I'd also be worried about your guy ⚠️ Last edited by SteelBytes on UTC; edited 1 time

RocklandDad wrote: The total extra to my bill is $97 The variator (which is half of one of the pulleys) would be about that price when bought bundled with the rollers and plate etc. Eg https://www.scooterwest.com/original-variator-for-vespa-gtshpe-hpe2-cm294702.html 12,000 miles does seem early for the variator to be replaced whereas the rollers + sliders which are part of that would need replacing (every 6000 miles) and they typically should have been in stock (and cheaper than the whole variator). The rollers/sliders will rattle when worn - could be the sound Still not 27 parts through 🤷♂️ |
