Trying to decide which one to buy.
2009 S150 (black) has 7850kms
2007 LX150 (red) has 1450kms.
Both are the same price.

I'm planning on seeing them both in person this week.

What do you fine folks think.....

Thanks in advance.

Both look good.

S has a solo seat and lacks an immobiliser. It may also have a fuel pump.

Check the service history on both.

LX likely needs new rubber due to age.

the black S looks better and has better accessories. also like a little bit more usage and not sitting around as much. also looks a bit more cared for IMO

Thanks for your thoughts
Full service was done in 2022 (on the lx)which included fluids and new tires.
The S was purchased at the shop and has a history of them servicing it. Not sure about the lx history.
The immobiliser on the lx is a bonus.
I'll check to see if the S has a fuel pump.

I agree....both look good. They're both in the same shop so I can compare them side by side.

I agree with you on the S not just sitting around as much is a good thing.
I actually like some of the design features on the S eg. more leg room in the cockpit, dash/gauges and the chrome "nose" on the front fender.
The windshield is kinda tall. I would probably replace it with a short tinted on even tho its less functional.

At this point its pretty much a coin toss.....

The windscreen is a bonus but I'll probably end up taking it off and selling it. I think if either had the tail/side chrome crash bar it would sway me.

It Will have a fuel pump. The black S150 has a screen thats a few $100 so up to you. the main things to look for are tyres and service. two things, #1 I despise vespa rubber floor mats they create rust and wear the paint and #2 I wouldn't own a red or black vespa as they are the two worst colours to look after but if you keep them polished and clean the paints are good.

srd0060....I appreciate your insight and comments.
I'm going to ask a lot of questions regarding both bikes when I head down to the Vespa Shop.

I know what you mean about keeping black bikes clean. I'm on my 3rd black Harley since 2007. They take extra work shining them up but when you're done nothing looks better....at least for the first hour

Red is not my choice on anything on wheels but my Wife loves it.

Good info re the mats.

You can't put miles back in, so the LX has an advantage there. That old horse chestnut about low mileage bikes being bad is nonsense.
But the S is sharp looking. I'm not sure why you think it has more leg room. It's the same bike. The S was originally marketed as an economical version of the LX. So there are features the LX had that the S didn't. But a lot of people like the styling on the S better. Except for the windshield and mirrors, they use the same accessories.
Either way, you're getting a decent bike.

If they called and told you one was sold, which one would you hope was still there?

Motovista......I haven't sat in either yet but the pic of the S appears to have more leg room because it doesn't have the oversized locking glove box up front of the Lx. Maybe I should have said "foot room"

I'm kinda wanting the S but things might change when I see them. I think the round headlight of the Lx looks nicer but the square is growing on me.

The seat on the S is lower too, if you're vertically challenged.

I'd go with the LX, lower miles, and Vespa headlights are supposed to be round.

Good point.....
However, I don't think seat height affects me at 5'10".
Although I like my VROD's low seat height of 27", the S150 is 31" so will feel different.

I think what I'm getting hung up on is which potential problems do I want to deal with
eg. the fuel pump issues of the S150 ('09) or the Lx ('07) immobilizer system.

Maybe the issues are over exaggerated or I'm reading too much....

Well that was easy.....
Went down to the Vespa Store this am and asked a lot of questions re the S150 vs Lx150.
Lou answered all my questions and offered his professional opinions on both Vespas. He provided me info on the service/ownership history and much more. I felt good that I would have been happy with either.

It was a very smooth transaction especially when I got an extra $400 off. Toronto West Vespa has earned another loyal Customer.

Btw.....I bought the Black one and it should be ready early next week.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and help.
Looking forward to posting pics of my Vespa adventures in the near future.......

Picked up the Vespa this morning!
It was a hoot to ride from downtown Toronto to Thornhill.
Put on approx 35km before I found my way home to give it a good shine.
I can't believe a 150cc could put such a grin on my face

Nice work, You may need to get yourself a windscreen to take the wind and bug load off you. Just a standard tinted low screen is all you need.

It actually came with one (see first pic) but I pulled it off before leaving the Dealership and I gave it to the Wife to take home in the car.
I'd like to get a short tinted fly-screen but they seem rare for the s150 (square headlight).

Cut the one you have.

Personably, I don't ride without a windscreen of some sort.

Congrats on the scoot. Enjoy it while the weather is still good.

Thanks.....Baudler.
I was thinking about cutting the one I have. Obviously the Plexi needs to get trimmed but the two rods will have to be shortened and the "new" shield drilled for the mounts. The wings that cover the hands would probably be removed.
I'm considering a 4-6" high shield (more like a thumbnail) and blacked out.
