Hey guys, I'm planning a scooter camping trip. Open invite for vintage scooters, come do the whole trip or just meet up for a night or two. Rides are going to be 100-250 miles per day, camping the entire way. Would love to meet some new people.

If only I was closer...

(...and my back wasn't so fucky. These days 100 to 125 miles is about all I can muster unless there is a hotel bed at the end of the ride.)

I know its a long haul for some, but Im cramming a lot in during october, with scooter and motorcycle racing every weekend, I really wanted to do a long camping trip on the vespa before it got too cold, so this is what I was left with. The faster you go, the shorter the ride time is

I'll be with you in spirit, as my club is doing our annual Nachez Trace camping trip that weekend, riding from Nashville down to Alabama, then riding some more, and limping back on Sunday. Razz emoticon

I think next year I'm gonna plan a longer one and maybe make the furthest stop (for me) Scooter Mercato, so maybe you could meet us there. We will see. Gonna race corsa next year too and be racing motorcycles a lot, so we will see how much I have in my enthusiasm tank.

Definitely post up with a little more lead time if you had that way and at least a few of us will turn up.

I'm also targeting doing the IFP next year, assuming it's more mid-atlantic than new england, so you might want to keep an eye on that.

I hope it is! I try to throw some persuasion to push it more mid Atlantic every chance I can so we will see! And yeah, I'm kinda planning on making this an annual trip so I'll give more heads up next year. This was pretty last minute.

Soopah jelly about that trip. I should have left a bike back east. I used to live closer to the trace (Huntsville) and I still regret not riding it.

I would take a long week and run it with the Majesty, but where's the fun in that?

A line from that Smiths song describes perfectly the summer that we've had in the UK:

"I know it's over and it never really began".

If you're ever out this way and want to borrow a bike, I have plenty of them that are great on the Trace.
