It's most likely the rollers. My BV200 has always made a noise as you described. It's got almost 38,000 miles. It's just an inherent sound of the scooter.
With that low of mileage, not likely anything wrong with the motor unless it was run low on oil. Could be a valve but it wouldn't be sticking, would be excessive lash. Could be rollers or something else in the transmission.
If you are DIY, flip of a coin for which to try first. 6k is low mileage for a belt change but it is 15 years old. Take a good look while you're in there for anything loose or rubbing, swap out the rollers and belt and you might fix it. Valve adjustment is a greater degree of difficulty, mostly because of crap access.
If you're taking it to a wrench, they might have a better opinion on what it might be.
Thanks. I'll get in to check rollers and belt. I need to check the vacuum hoses as well. Just a pain to pull all the plastic off for access. Thanks again.
