Hi everyone and a big thank you for letting me join the forum!

I have recently come into Vespa ownership, almost by mistake but it's a long story, however after the first ride I was smitten, anyway this means my knowledge is very little indeed!

It's a 2002 ET4 125, up until recently started great but now it just turns over but not firing! I believe the previous owner had the valve clearances done for a similar issue but he is no longer around to confirm or deny!

I have followed the none start guide. It has a spark and appears to have compression, the fuel tap works. Is there anything obvious?

Thanks for reading!

Can you post a picture of the spark plug? People will then be able to advise on whether the engine is running rich or lean.

Apologies for late response, the weather has been terrible so unable to have a look until today. The spark plug was hardly damp, so I removed the fuel line and it seemed to have a blockage as it dripped for a while then suddenly poured out! After this it started but needed the throttle pumping until it got going!
Over night it was the same, still needed lots of pumping to start. I now see that the fuel line has lots of air in it and the vacuum operated fuel tap, is not working as it should!
So I have ordered a new tap, fuel and vacuum hoses and clips, also an inlet manifold.
Fingers crossed! I will take a pic of the plug when I get it out again, as I got totally carried away!!!
