Hi all

Currently having my Rally 200 frontend upgraded to disc and having SIP tubeless rims fitted front and back.

Was thinking this would also be a good chance to fit internal tire pressure management system (TPMS) stems as will be doing lots of longer trips over the next year (and just for peace of mind).

I'd prefer a small seperate display rather than a phone as hardly use my phone while riding.

Looking at something like

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/313302551515

Any suggestions from people that have one it before?

Cheers

Matt

You can't. SIP rims don't have a normal valve stem (unless they are very early version 1.0). There's only a tiny hole from the inside. And also, no room…

Thanks for the insight, it'll be the latest version so seems it won't be possible after all.

Would there be room to use the external cap style ones and perhaps a t valve (see attached) to make filling easier?

If so any preferred supplier?

I know you specified an internal TPMS, but I can only speak to my experience with this simpler sensors-on-the-cap dealy:

https://sykik.com/collections/wireless-tire-pressure-monitor/products/srtp300

...which has been pretty darn good. At first I thought, how effective/durable could this thing be for 50 bucks? Turns out, very.

Installation takes 15 minutes and another 15 minutes to figure out the config. A charge lasts for about two months of regular use, or for a 10-day, 3000km tour, and the watch batteries on the cap senders about a year. Waterproof claims are valid.

The only irritant is the extra 30 seconds it takes to undo and re-tighten the securing nuts every time you add air. That, and how the system interprets an undone cap as a sudden blowout. The frantic beeping has no shutoff button while you're adding air.

One nice benefit of this thing is that it takes the mystery out of detecting a slow leak.

Overall I'm spoiled now, and would feel nervous riding without it!

Brilliant thanks for this.

Thinking I'll start with a set of external cap ones and if I like them try an external set when I get new tires in about six months!
